THIRD RING ROAD – TRIPOLI
Add project descriptionIn Tripoli, Libya, Rowad—operating as part of the O.H.R.N Joint Venture—executed the infrastructure works for a 24 km strategic ring road, a flagship project under Libya’s national “Return to Life” initiative. Commissioned by the Libyan Ministry of Housing and Utilities with Hill International as consultant, the project is divided into four phases from Ghut Shaal to Al-Shat Road. Phase one, spanning 6 km from Ghut Shaal to Airport Road, has been completed and inaugurated. Works included 35 major structures—13 multi-level interchanges (35 bridges), 9 flyovers, 14 pedestrian bridges, and 6 underpasses—alongside 3.8 million m² of roadworks (700,000 tons of asphalt), deep foundations with over 700 piles, and a fully integrated rainwater drainage system. More than 1,800 engineers and workers were deployed, underscoring the project’s scale in easing congestion and supporting sustainable urban growth.
