ELECTRIC LIGHT RAILWAY TRANSIT (LRT)- BADR DEPOT
Project Description
The National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) has awarded the GAMA–Rowad Joint Venture, a 50/50 partnership between Rowad Modern Engineering and Gama Construction, the contract for a key phase of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) project in Badr City. The scope involves constructing 26 workshop buildings with complete associated infrastructure, including landscaping, roadworks, subgrade, and a 3,112-meter perimeter fence. The JV is also executing a 123 km precast concrete barrier along the LRT mainline to enhance security and operational control. Designed to serve 340,000 passengers daily, the LRT will ease congestion on the Cairo–Ismailia highway by up to 30%, playing a vital role in advancing Greater Cairo’s mobility network.
