EL-MENOUFY HOUSE (TAREK ABDEL-HAKIM CENTER)

Rowad, entrusted by the Saudi Ministry of Culture, is undertaking the full renovation and adaptive re-use of the historic El-Menoufy House in Jeddah. As part of the “Historic Jeddah” revitalization initiative—launched in September 2021 under the patronage of the Crown Prince—the project transforms this heritage landmark into the Tarek Abdel-Hakim Center, a dedicated exhibition and museum celebrating Hijazi music. Situated in Al-Balad, on the Red Sea’s eastern shore, the district is home to over 600 heritage buildings, 36 mosques, and historic markets. The center will serve as a cultural hub preserving and showcasing Saudi Arabia’s rich musical legacy.
