In cooperation with MCA Mozambique, M. Couto Alves, S.A., and M. Couto Alves, Vias, S.A., Rowad was assigned to rehabilitate and construct coastal protection for Maputo City, Mozambique. The 24-month project covered a total length of 13 km and involved developing a 7-groin system, sand nourishment between groins, toe protection, and the rehabilitation of existing sea walls, groins, and revetments. It also included establishing a new coastal configuration system along Maputo’s South Coast and developing criteria for both the south and southwest zones.
