Rowad was selected by DANIELI—ranked among the top three global suppliers of equipment and plants for the metal industry—as the main contractor for the EZZ DRI Plant in Ain Sokhna. Tasked with resuming and completing the project, Rowad was chosen based on its proven ability to meet DANIELI’s high standards in resource allocation, quality, safety procedures, and adherence to strict timelines. The scope of work included the full turnkey execution of civil works across the Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) Plant, encompassing electrical cabins and laboratory facilities, the reactor tower, gas treatment plant, reformer and steam system, CO₂ absorber, and process gas heater. Additional works involved material handling cabins, raw material screening, plant feeding systems, product screening, storage and dispatch areas, and the DRP water treatment plant. Supporting infrastructure included maintenance workshops, utility networks, compressed air systems, the electrical general system, as well as roadways and paved site areas.
